English belongs to one of the main subjects being taught at high schools. Central tests to compare students' abilities in reading, writing and listening take place in grades 6 and 8. Furthermore students have to pass central examinations in grades 10 and 13. At the moment there are 8 English teachers working at the Lower Sorbian High school.
